This is Pinwheel 6, one of the works in the What She Made Series.
The pinwheel flower is from one of my mother’s quilts. The ground
on this piece started as a quilt layout I called parcels - rectangles
on angles that fit together like bricks in a walkway, but envisioned
as parcels of land in an aerial photo. On top of parcels landed a
macro imprint of the pinwheel that features in this series.
