This piece came from my pilgrimage to Moffat, Scotland.
We are standing on the hiking path up to Loch Skeen and
overlooking the Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall and looking
off down the Moffat Water Valley. Where the small, gently
flowing river rounds a bend in the shallow between the two
peaks, the sunlight hits the valley were part of my father’s
ashes were laid in a cairn along the waters.
