In the late 1960s, a friend convinced my mom to make a yarn-sewn wall hanging on burlap.
It first hung in the home my parents lived in before I was born, and then in the house
that I was born into. The home is gone, as is the yarn art, but I re-discovered the
piece from a scanned 35 mm slide, de-skewed the image, brightened the colors, and used
two of the motifs for this painting.
